Het weer...

Hmmm, het meest besproken onderwerp in Nederland...

Vandaag voel ik mijn schouders een beetje

toch iets te lang in de zon gezeten gister, denk ik...

Maar als ik nu naar buiten kijk,

kan ik me er helemaal niets bij voorstellen!

Het regent... Hard!

En het is koud!

Ik wil gister terug!!!

Hm, the subject here that's touched most in conversations is the weather...

Today I feel my shoulders a little

I guess I've been in the sun too long yesterday...

But when I look outside today,

I can't believe it!

It rains... A lot!

And it's cold!

I want yesterday back!!!

The Piercing Studio

Een lange lege zaterdagmiddag voor ons neus...

Het regende een beetje en we probeerden te kleuren...

Maar daar hadden we eigenlijk geen zin in!

Cato vroeg ineens: Mam, ben ik nu groot genoeg voor oorbellen?

En dus sprongen we in de auto en gingen we naar The Piercing Studio!

A long empty Saturday afternoon ahead...

It rained a little and we tried some coloring...

But we didn't feel like it!

Then Cato asked: Mam, am I big enough to get my ears pierced now?

So we jumped in the car and went to The Piercing Studio!

Even voor de foto: Boos kijken en niet blij zijn met je oorbellen!

Maar ze zijn wel blij! :)

Cato reageerde niet bij de eerste en gaf een paar tranen bij de tweede.

En toen Jeanette vroeg of Teus ook een oorbel wilde zei hij gelijk Ja!

Nou ja, wie ben ik dan om Nee te zeggen?

Ik vind het geweldig om mijn kinderen zo blij te zien met zo weinig!

But they are very happy! :)

Cato didn't respond to the first one and just a couple tears with the second ear.

And when Jeanette asked if Teus wanted his ear pierced too he said Yes!

Well, who am I to say No?

I love to see my children this happy with so little!

Granny update 3

Jaaaaa, ik ben er!

Yeah, I'm there!

In eerste instantie zou ik 84 blokken maken

dat zou uitkomen op zo'n 1.12x1.92m

Dat leek me net te smal voor een eenpersoons bed...

Dus maakte ik nog 12 blokken extra!

At first I planned to make 84 squares

that would give a size around 1.12x1.92m

That seems a little small for a bed...

So I made another 12 squares!

Nu wordt mijn deken 8x12 blokken

1.28x1.92m

en dan nog een leuke rand er om heen

maar eerst maar eens beginnen met aan elkaar zetten...

Fijn weekend allemaal!

Now my blanket will be 8x12 squares

plus a nice border around that

but first a start to crochet them together...

Teus is 5!

Zo, even bijkomen...

Héél even, hoor! 

Ik moet zo weer naar school om Teus te laten uitdelen...

En we moeten nog met Youp naar Jesri om half 2...

En Teus heeft weer zwemles om 4 uur...

Maar goed, daar kwam ik niet voor natuurlijk!

Het is feest vandaag!!!

Teus is 5!

So, a moment of ease...

I have be at school soon to celebrate in Teus' class...

And Youp has therapy at 1.30pm...

And Teus has swimming lessons at 4pm...

But that's not why I'm here now!

It's party time today!!! 

Teus is 5!

En dus bakte ik taarten...

En pakte kadootjes in...

En versierde de keuken...

En ging zaterdagavond veel te laat naar bed!

And so I bakes cakes...

And wrapped presents...

And decorated our kitchen...

And went to bed way too late on Saturday!

Maar dit gezicht maakte alles goed!!!

This face made up for all the hussle!!!

 

Hij wilde alleen maar Lego!

En ik heb er een paar sleutelhangers bij gedaan voor mijn gemak...

Ooit geprobeerd een kale fietssleutel terug te vinden op het schoolplein?

All he asked for was Lego!

And I added a couple keychains for my convenience...

Ever tried to retrieve a lonely somewhere dropped bike-key at a schoolyard?

En natuurlijk is er dan geen tijd om te eten...

Of je aan te kleden...

Maar beloven dat we zo gaan fietsen helpt!

And of course there's no time to eat...

Or get dressed...

The promiss of going out to try the bike helped!

O ja, ik zit inmiddels op 74 vierkantjes voor mijn deken...

Het was een hele drukke week helaas!

Oh, I'm at 74 squares for my blanket now...

Unfortunately it has been a very busy week!

Granny update 2

Ben ik weer even...

En ja, ik heb echt wel geslapen afgelopen week! :)

We hebben hier mei-vakantie

en dat scheelt me zo'n 3 uur per dag.

Die 3 uur ben ik kwijt aan het heen en weer fietsen naar school met de kinderen.

Eigenlijk moet ik daar het lunch-uur nog bij optellen...

Here I am again...

And yes, I did sleep lots in the past week! :)

We have May-holidays

and that saves me 3 hours per day.

Normally it takes me 3 hours per day to bike the kids up and down to school.

And I should add lunch-hour to that...

En zo zitten we dus ineens op 61 vierkantjes...

Dan komt 84 best wel dichtbij! :)

And at once we're at 61 aquares...

And 84 is right around the corner! :)

Ik heb ze voor de foto even in de vorm van een deken gelegd.

Nou, ik word al helemaal blij van dit uitzicht! :)

Granny update 1

Tadaaaa! De eerste 35 blokken zijn af!

Nog 11 roze en 38 blauwe te gaan...

En dan wil ik ze om en om met wit aan elkaar gaan zetten...

Tja, ik ben nog wel even bezig! :)

Ik begin met deze.

In een roze/lila garen (Drops Delight 06).

Ik twijfel nog of ik hem ga combineren met de lichtblauw-variant (Drops Delight 04)...

En dan wit ipv van zwart om alle blokken samen te voegen.

Het kleur-verloop per blok vind ik echt prachtig!

Het is toch amper te geloven dat deze variatie uit 1 bol komt?

I love the color variation in each Granny!

Isn't it hard to believe these all came from 1 ball?

Zara voelt zich al een stuk beter.

De wond geneest mooi!

En hoera, gister kwam de schoolfotograaf...

Misschien heeft hij ook Photo-shop??? ;)

Fijne paasdagen

Tropisch zijn ze, die paasdagen...

They're tropical, these Easter days...

 Beetje luieren...

 Some nothing...

Beetje haken...

Lekkere kussentjes voor op die houten bank!

En een beetje hard vallen...

Op haar neus!

En bloeden dat het deed... Brrr!

Ik heb echt even getwijfeld of hij niet gebroken was

maar na een minuut of 20 koelen trok het ergste

dikke en blauwe weg gelukkig!

And some falling... Hard!

On her nose!

So much blood... Brrr!

I doubted if it was broken

but after 20 minutes of serious cooling

the worst bruise and swelling were gone!

Granny affffffff!!! :)

Het is hier fantastisch weer!

Echt wel 25C, in de schaduw!

En dus zit ik met mijn haakwerkje in de schaduw van de bomen

met resultaat!

Mijn Granny is AF!!!

The weather here is fantastic!

At least 25C / 77F, in the shade!

And so I spend my time crocheting in the shade of the trees

with a result!

My Granny is finished!!!

En de ontvanger is er reuze-blij mee!

And the recipient is very pleased with it!

placemat voor onderweg

Het is een bijzonder weekend.

Nic is naar de andere kant van het meer om de verbouwing af te maken bij Kirsten.

Hij heeft Zara meegenomen.

En Youp ging bij opa en oma logeren.

Dan ben je ineens nog maar met z'n drietjes en is er extra tijd om leuke dingen te gaan doen!

This is a very special weekend.

Nico went to the other side of the lake to finish a rebuiling at Kirsten's place.

He took Zara with him.

And Youp went to opa and oma this weekend.

And then there's just three of us left and lots of time for fun things!

Zo wilde Cato graag kralen rijgen en na een klein beetje hulp heeft ze haar eerste hobby!

Inmiddels is ze bezig met nr.4! :)

Cato wanted to make bead necklaces and with a little help she now officially started her first hobby!

She's working on nr.4 as we speak! :)

En ik heb er twee gekregen! 

Daar word ik zó blij van!

And I received two of them!

They make me só happy!

Tussendoor kroop ik achter de naaimachine.

Ik wilde iets leuks maken voor een 1-jarig meisje.

Dat helemaal in Amerika woont.

Het moest dus wel makkelijk op te sturen zijn!

In between I played with my sewing machine.

I wanted to make something for a 1yo girl.

Who lives in the USA.

So it had to be something easy to send!

 A place mat 'on the go'!

En dus ging ik op zoek naar stofjes met leuke printjes

zodat er steeds iets nieuws te ontdekken valt voor de kleine.

Met een zakje voor een servetje, bestek en evt. een klein speelgoedje.

Even oprollen en hij verdwijnt zo in de luiertas.

En je hoeft je nooit meer zorgen te maken wie er voor jou aan dat tafeltje zat...

And so I picked a couple cute prints

so there's lots to discover for the little one. 

With a pocket for a napkin, fork, knife and spoon and if you wish a favorite toy.

Easy to roll up and put in the diaperbag.

And you never have to wonder who was at the table before you...

Ik weet het, de mijne ziet er heel anders uit als het voorbeeld...

Ik heb altijd nogal moeite met beschrijvingen netjes opvolgen...

Maar als je behoefte hebt om te weten hoe ik deze gemaakt heb

dan maak ik er met plezier nog eentje van de week

en zorg ik voor stap-voor-stap foto's! :)
